How Do You Bake With Non-stick Bakeware?
Light colored bakeware cook slower and the baked treat would not brown too much on the top, bottom or edges. Dark bakeware on the other hand cook faster because they absorb heat faster and distribute it more evenly than light colored bakeware.
So if you have a dark non-stick bakeware, follows these simple steps to use it to bake:-
(i) Set your oven to preheat to 25 degrees less than called for by the recipe.
(ii) You can choose to either grease your pan or line it with parchment (baking) paper.
(iii) Pour your batter or mixture into the prepared pan and bake for the required time but it is recommended that you start checking 10 minutes before the time is up.
But for light colored bakeware, just follow the steps without reducing the temperature or cooking time.
Are Circulon Pans Made With Teflon?
Circulon lists that all its nonstick products are made with non-stick that totally free of PFOA. It ensures that the non-stick technologies that it employs to make PTFE non-stick are without PFOA.
Due to the controversy surrounding the use of Teflon on cook and bakeware, many manufacturers ensure that they steer clear of it. So you have taken good care of your non-stick baking pans for over 5 years; we salute you but it might be time to throw them out. After 5 years of using your non-stick pans, check to see whether they have started to discolour or warp (bend out of shape; especially the bottom).
Another issue that should warrant that you discard your non-stick pans is when the inside is scratched. The scratches in the pan means that the non-stick coating has started flaking off and most probably would get into your food.
